Twenty-Six Candles

First and foremost, I'll be twenty-six tomorrow.

Secondly, I really hate to say this, but I'll be discontinuing posting on here for the time being.

Judging from the length and lack of updates, I no longer have the time to be wiring on here anymore courtesy of this taxicab gig and everything else important in my agendas. Also, the blogging trend isn't as hot as it was 8 years ago when I first started blogging. Somehow, my ever constant schedule decreased my desire and interest to write on here.

As I said before, I work at least an average of 12 hours a day, getting six to eight hours of sleep, and the rest of the time, I'm either doing stuff with my family, hanging out at Primitive Shoes and Apparel, feasting at Pizza Rev or In-N-Out, making graphics on Illustrator to escape from stress and/or spending some hours on the phone with the little brother and some close female friends of mine. My time is always occupied, and that shit goes so fucking quick.

I'm supposed to be at Los Angeles International Airport right now picking up people, but I just woke up from over sleeping for three hours since I pulled in extra hours in the middle of the night and I still feel tired. But I have to be there despite the fact that I really hate driving down there and dealing with the headache and the simple-minded ass security down there at the terminals. That place is always corrupt when it comes to going from one terminal to another. And the worst part is the freeways of course. I'm there every five days.

I don't plan on doing this job for a long time. Its something to do on the side until I start getting more relevant in terms of financial stability. Its decent at sometimes and the rest of it is just whatever. That type of shit is like that with every basic ass job. I honestly think not everyone enjoys being at an office desk job wearing a necktie and trying not to get fired from eye-fucking at the young, sexy, female secretary every morning. No disrespect, they're probably working this just to make ends meet for their family, or for themselves until they make enough revenue to venture into investing in their own business of interest. That's what I'm doing with my photograph business. Its not big and hyped out yet, but I'm taking my time to have that happen.

I will say this though. If you don't feel uncomfortable in your work environment, just fucking walkout and find something else to do. Yes, not alot of places are hiring, but you're better off doing something you really like than to have your parents place you somewhere where you make decent money at a place you've never pursued in before. Or better yet, just have some patience while your making money. I've had several jobs in the past 10 years where my co-workers and bosses are just assholes you wanna spit on. That's one of the many challenges in the adult life, and with myself turning twenty-six tomorrow, I have a lot of challenges up ahead later in life.

Another thing is that I'll will be deactivating my Facebook profile after today. Despite the fact that my initial purpose was to showcase my photography work on there, the site just lost its taste. I liked it when I first joined back in 2007 as an alternative to MySpace at the time, but now its totally over-commercialized and the founder of the social network site was on the cover of Time magazine, has more revenue than most of the States in this country and he's not even reached 30 yet. Facebook just sucks now.

If you want to contact me up or send me an unnecessary birthday shoutout, just hit me up on Twitter @justforsneaks or my instagram @justforsneaks07, cause I'm on those two applications alot more everyday on my iPhone 5. Better yet, just send me a text message or give me a call anytime of the day for business inquiries or whatever (if I don't answer, its because I might be driving on the freeway or handling business, so just leave a voice message). My number is 818-736-2986. I might be back on Facebook in the future, not too sure yet. Again, I've been busy alot (real busy, not fake busy) and I really wish I can continue blogging on here every other day, but as I'm getting older to better myself, I just don't have the time to cause typing up one regular blogpost take forever. MY favorite blogger/celebrity jeweler Ben Baller said that he had to stop blogging last year cause he's now focused on his family, his work and his second kid on the way, respectively, so now I know how that is.

Well, for those who have been reading this site since 2009, thanks for your time. I'll leave this active so that y'all can check out the previous blogposts that have been archived for the past five years. (You might want to bookmark this site) Again, if you want photos taken or anything, feel free to contact me. Finally, I just want to leave this Catholic-type saying that I just made up yesterday while driving on Victory and White Oak in Encino:

Save One And Others,
For Ever Given.

Thank you. Blessings.

Baby Talkin' to Strangers

Yeah, still driving around the Valley picking up all kinds of humans to get from point A to point B. Been doing it everyday, but I managed to get some time off this weekend to cover my good friend Katie Galvez's baby shower party on Saturday, as well as her brother Elvis' band Aftergloam performing in the West Valley later that night.

Like I typed on my recent status on Facebook, I was trying to upload some teaser photos from the baby shower because I was planning to spend about about half a month editing these along with the photoshoot I did of my cousin and his BMW last December, which I still haven't worked on. But for some weird, wild, reason, Facebook won't even proceed with uploading at least one of my pictures on my timeline. Honestly, I really hate that site and its founder, yet, I'm only on there just to show off my photographs for business purposes, otherwise, I'd be going to different bars every weekend trying just hitting on women twice my age. Also, another reason is that the whole world and their grandmothers have a Facebook account nowadays.

So until I can try to get the photos working on there, here are some of the preview pictures from Katie's baby shower. Feel free to copy and paste these to your instagram or whatever.

Also, I read that T-Mobile is getting rid of the contracts plans and that they'll be switching to prepaid plans for any of their new customers. They said that they might be finally announcing the iPhone for their company as well. Should be interesting.

Anyway, thanks for your time reading this.

Like The Virgin

The thirst is real.

Usually, I would upload this type of stuff on my other blog site, but after two years, I decided to not update the Nobody Reads Anymore. Nowadays, I can't handle running two blog sites as I envisioned it when I launched the Wordpress site back on January 2011. However, I'll leave it up for nostalgic purposes and to admire the women and current events from mostly 2011 and a few from 2012 that I discussed on there without the long paragraphs. As much as I liked it, the same concept will be posted on here like I did in the past. The link is below

Its time to grow up, unlike those two blokes in the image unless they eventually did it.

TWO YEARS ON TWITTER

Exactly, two years ago, I opened a Twitter account.

I created it because earlier that day, my original Facebook account was suspended and that was my main outlet aside from the dilapidating Myspace to express my thoughts. Plus my iWeb page was already expired that time. So I had no choice but to join Twitter. See back then, Twitter wasnt as hyped and crazy as it is now. No businesses had it, only a limited amount of celebrities had one, and it was hardly ever mentioned on the news until that day.

Then Elect-President Barack Obama got sworn in as President of the United States and CNN mentioned on how you can follow his updates on Twitter during the telecast of his swearing in, which I thought it was either him or someone from the Secret Service writing his Twitter profile. I started to like it and went wild on Twitter for a few months despite that no one I knew joined the site or even signed up for it. I met some people over through that site, including this one kid who literally worships Kim Kardashian. I managed to meet him in person and I took him to see his favorite celebrity. After that, the site turned into a you heard it first source where breaking news and deaths, both real and fake, are being mention and raved about on that site.

I had thoughts of deleting the account a few months after I re-joined Facebook, but I decided to keep it to say some observations or some shit thats on my mind in under 140 characters. Its pretty useful if you have a Blackberry or a iPhone or any smartphone device so that you can keep viewers informed wherever you are.

By the way, there hasnt been any decent news or current events today other than those mental cases who went postal at different High Schools blowing off other students and law enforcement civilians. The only news from today thats worth useful to a fifth grader for his or her Current Event assignment is Jesse James being engaged to Hollywood Tattoo artist Kat Von D. Yeah, I didnt want to bring that up, but why would people be interested to being informed about a guy who cheated on the ever talented Sandra Bullock over a Tattoo artist? Whatever, Hollywood is know for its weirdness, and I live 15 miles from there in the San Fernando Valley.

AFTER ONE WEEK INTO THE NEW YEAR

We've witnessed a homeless man scoring a radio job over bunch of broadcast journalist major graduates whom are soul searching for for a job, a black teenager showing the whole world on video what happens if the word "Facebook" enters his Uncle's vocabulary by literally getting his ass whooped by him about the activities he does on that site, and a mental case by the name of Jared Lee Loughner goes postal in Tucson, Arizona by sending a congress woman to the hospital and taking the life of a kid who was born on September 11, 2001.

I'll just pretend none of that happened as I continue to make money and enjoy Nu Shooz's Told U So album I downloaded. Thank Mann's "Buzzin'" track that my brother kept playing on Saturday night during my sister's 16th birthday party. Yeah, I don't know who Mann is either, but the beat on that song came from Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait".

Pulling Some Roots Over The Weekend

I had a rags to riches type weekend. It started out stale on Friday. I was supposed to go to my friend Joanna's graduation in Hawthorne that night, but my uncle and my pops wanted me to cover a wakekeeping event... in Hawthorne. Weird coincidence. So I rode with my family to the event and its been a long ass time since I rode in the backseat with my little brother. I remember when this was a frequent thing everyday back when we were kids, with me and all three of my siblings being squished up in the backseat in every car my parents owned, regardless if its a compact of a full size sedan.

When we got there, my uncle said that I was going to work with these two other Nigerian photographers cause he has to be at another wakekeeping in Torrance (yeah, too many people died recently). I worked with them twice before, but this time, one of the guys wants me to videotape it and he had the other guy take some still shots of it. It should've been the other way around. Throughout the whole time, my back was starting to ache cause I was holding the camera, which is the same exact Canon XL-1 that my uncle has, for almost 4 hours. I had to take quick breaks by sitting down on a chair. At the end of the night, I was compensated $10 for all that work. I'm not complaining. Money is money. I could've let that Ten Dollar bill grow or something, but I needed it for fuel unfortunately. I wouldn't say the event was great, since it was for one of my parents friends who passed away, but the people there, including my pops, were dancing non-stop for almost three and a half hours like an unorganized high school homecoming dance.

Saturday was just nothing. I missed out on my friend D'Ana Spencer's birthday party in Studio City cause some other last minute shit came up. That got me very upset. These things went from driving all the way up to Westfield Valencia Town Center to test drive some cars that Toyota had in their lineup, which was a 2011 Sienna, the new Highlander Hybrid and this Toyota Prius Prototype in which they claim that its a Plug-In electric that has added two Lithium-Ion batteries to give the car more range after one power charge. Its still a regular Prius to me. I've been to many, MANY test drives throughout the year, but this one wasn't like any of them. The test drive for each car lasted for less than 45 seconds, with the total experience turning out to be 1 minute and 35 seconds for all three Toyotas. I could've done that time in ONE car. And what's more worse was that they gave me a free movie theater voucher for the theater right next to the mall. I wish those fuckers knew that I don't like to go to movie theaters so they could give me a gift card to the mall at least. That shit was a waste.

I also gave this one girl a ride to her place in Sylmar when I was there pumping gasoline in my car. It was her and her husband that needed a lift, but all of a sudden, her husband started going postal and say all kinds of mad shit to her. Hell, he even broke up with her RIGHT ON THE SPOT. The girl told me that she's moving to Washington D.C, the nation's capital. I thought she was attractive, well, not too attractive. Just trying to be nice. I wish I was at D'Ana's party instead of doing all that other stuff on that day.

On Sunday, I drove all the way up to the Antelope Valley to help my uncle cover an event at a Nigerian church in Palmdale. One of the members there was getting ordained as one of the Pastors of the church. It was decent, minus all the little kids making a lot of noise. I spent the night at my uncle's place to help him edit some videos and photos.

When I woke up the next morning, my car was all iced up, since I was at the High Desert, which gets really cold during the winter. As I got back to Valley, I decided to go take my car to get it serviced at the Pep Boys in San Fernando since it was the closet on in Sylmar. While I was waiting for it to be worked on, I decided to stroll around the San Fernando Mall. The stores were open, but the strip itself was dead. There were no cars parked and there wasn't that many people walking around. Plus, literally every store was the same thing, selling prom/Quinceanera dresses and tuxedo rentals. That's REALLY competitive. Also, the economy isn't that well, so I can understand why there aren't a lot of people there. I guess it gets jumping during the spring, since most weddings and school dances are around that time. After that I rode to Northridge to go do some Christmas shopping for myself. Just got some shirts and a new electric trimmer.

Later on that night, I rode with my pops to go visit his brother who just came back from Nigeria over the weekend. During the ride, we spent the whole time just looking back and reminiscing when everything was perfect before he split with my mom. I used to ride to church with him back when I was in ninth grade, and we would always have these discussions every week, but that night was the first time we had that in, shit forever. It acted like nothing ever happened, even though I had my differences and constant disputes with my parents for the past few years, but that shit typically happens in families. Its hard to control but you learn from it. Probably the only true meaning of the holidays, not the whole "buying gifts and having that person returning it the day after Christmas" bullshit.

Yeah, I know, a late weekend review. I'm not lazy, but I have to find the right time to type the recap. Speaking of blogs, there's a sure chance that I might be re-starting my website again, only using a different service. That means I'll be typing my posts there and showcasing my photos on the site just like I did when I had my website with iWeb and MobileMe two years ago. I might even have to retire this site also. It'll still be up, but I won't be writing on here. This is still in the works and we'll see how it turns up. My projection date to launch it is in New Years Day 2011, so I'll have plenty of time to map this out.

Oh yeah, before I forget, FUCK YOU TIME MAGAZINE FOR MAKING MARK ZUCKERBURG PERSON OF THE YEAR! And fuck that rich billionaire bastard Mark Zuckerburg. I'd rather see one of the Kardashians or some annoying Youtube breakout sensation win that instead of him. Shit, I might quit Facebook to focus on the site I'm working on more than that social networking piece of shit. That's something Taylor Swift could've pulled off last year. Man, I totally ran out and can't think of more cuss words for this.

From getting what you came for, just because

Fuck, its already December, the last month of 2010.

This past few days have been absolutely crazy in terms of being busy. I haven't gotten a chance to stop and relax for a bit. I even tried to be internet sober for 12 hours last Friday, but instead, I winded up doing some work at my Pops house in Granada Hills by cleaning the yard and some interior housework. Later on, I spent the rest of the time to kill by finishing up the Toy Story 3 DVD that Pops got the week before to play for the kids at his Thanksgiving party.

After watching the film, I gotta admit, that shit was VERY funny. Yes, the ending was kinda somber for those who've seen and understand the first two films in theaters like myself, but I DIDN'T SHED A DAMN TEAR LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DID. The film was pure comedy. Hell, I was laughing throughout some, if not, most parts of the film. Now I totally regret not watching it in theaters this past summer, especially in 3D. But at least I didn't have to deal with the fucking kids screaming and the high school dipshits talking/texting inside the theater during the screening, another reason why I don't go out to cinemas that much.

Speaking about nostalgia, Facebook is now having this weird cause where you have to post a cartoon character to raise awareness for children who are victims of child abuse. Here's the exact quote of this whole shit.

"Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday, there should be no human faces on facebook, but a stash of memories. This is for eliminating violence against children"

To me, that's just an excuse to let everyone in the whole world know what guilty pleasure animated show you used to watch back in the day without being totally embarrassed. Plus the whole cause makes no sense at all. Whoever started it needs to get their ass kicked, or has gotten their ass kicked in the past which him or her create this awareness cause. I mean why cartoon characters? Why not just post up baby pictures of ourselves instead, but that won't happen because at least half of Facebook's demographic are too lazy to scan pictures. I don't like to be biased, but I've seen it happen. This thing is supposed to go on until the end of tonight, but I won't be surprised if people kept their favorite cartoon characters up after the end of this month. As much as I love to bring up the past many times, you can't always live in it in the present. Once it gone, its fucking gone.

So y'all wanna talk about animated nostalgia, all right then. Here's my throwback profile picture for this ridiculous cause that I put up for a few hours.

Original 1991 Jetsons: The Movie VHS. You can't find this videotape anywhere nowadays, except a used copy on eBay. Way long out of print. That, along with The Flintstones were one of THE BEST cartoons in the history of the world, and its a fact. They were what The Simpsons are today back when those two shows debuted, by airing on Primetime television after dinner. Hanna-Barbera owned the entire Saturday Morning industry by shitting on Disney and Warner Bros. (who were also decent) back in 60's, 70's and 80's. I did it for the hell of it just cause everyones profile pictures kept grewing on me, and to use as an excuse to not feel embarrassed. But in terms of child abuse, sadly, nobody in this world is perfect and everyone was raised differently, otherwise I'd use this unorthodox photo of Dr. Phil McGraw as my profile picture instead.

Alright, enough about my childhood before I get too caught up being stuck in the 1990's again (which I don't really mind that much). I just wanted to get that out of my mind. Twitter is doing the same shit with celebrities abandoning their updates on their profiles until the cause that they're supporting raises One Million Dollars to fight and prevent AIDS being spread in Africa and India. Now, at first, I'm all for that and shit, but did they REALLY have to go as far as having popular A-list celebrities "dying"? Haven't we learned something from 2009?

Everywhere I go in conversations, people say that so many celebrities that year has passed away than any other year. You're not supposed to fuck with death, or pretend with it. I was surprised that movie Death at a Funeral was premiered at the beginning of this year. I'm sure the movie must've been green-lighted prior to 2009, but they should've at least re-wrote the script or changed the title. Then again, its a recession since movie studios can't afford to do production all over again and controversy creates cash. Why can't each of the stars just used their millions of their own money? Or hell, even most of the bankrupt-proof corporate big wigs and that rich asshole Mark Zuckerburg just donate to that cause in which the total amount will QUADRUPLE, TRIPLE, DOUBLE the amount totaled that buyalife.org, the site running this cause, will reach. Here's one of the advertisements for this.

Looking at this really gives me the chills. Speaking of Kim Kardashian, I met her again for the ninth time last Thursday.

First and foremost, MAJOR thank you shoutout to my homeboy Ryan Castro for hooking me up with this again. I was gonna skip this, but apparently he managed to tag me along with him. It was a book signing event for their book Kardashian Konfidental at the Borders at Westfield Century City mall. I saw Kim there twice earlier this year, but I think they should've held this at a larger Borders like the one in Westwood just a few minutes northwest of Century City, or even the one at Northridge, or shit, even at the Barnes and Noble at the Grove, where alot of famous people go to do their book signings which take place like almost every week. The line for this event was, without reason, the LONGEST craziest motherfuckin' line I've ever seen, for a book signing. The line was so wild, that they had to make four different lines just to get their book signed. There were people who stayed since Borders closed the night prior to this so that they can be the first ones to meet her and her sisters.

When we got there, there were a lot of people in line that I recognized and remembered from previous Kim Kardashian meet and greets, lots of people. Shit felt like a class reunion. Plus I met some new people and left the mall with a lot of contacts from some hot females as usual, including Cindy Martinez from Channel 22, a Spanish television station here in Los Angeles. Damn, she is FINE as fuck, and I hate to say it but she outdid the Kardashians in looks and attention that night. There were like three media photographers at least hitting on Cindy Martinez while Kim, Kourtney and Khloe were posing for the camera as they came out. Again, another terrific night. Here are some photos.

Cindy Martinez could easily be the fourth lost Kardashian sister. I really wanna do her.

Despite what their book states, this is what made Kim and her family famous. Nothing absolutely wrong with it.

Money shot of the night.

what 1,400 people skipped class and work to stand in line for that day.

Anyway, I gotta get back to work editing more photos. I really don't wanna stop blogging and writing more posts. By the way, shoutout to the USC Trojans football team (who, according to the book that Kim's father went to school at and their family friend OJ Simpson played at, but I knew that the whole time) for creating an upset at Pasadena against UCLA last night and also by going through another unusual season. One more to go by in 2011 and after that, its back to the BCS again.

The result of Tom Anderson's Absence

The fuck happened with MySpace? I just went on for the hell of it since I haven't been on it for a long time (except Myspace Music which used to be Imeem for listening to streaming music), and then I see their new layout which looks completely foreign to me. I know that Twitter is gonna do the same shit in the coming months, but DAMN, it looks like the new Myspace layout is now geared towards anyone under 12 years of age.

I remember the very first time I heard about MySpace was back in August 2005. My friend Stephen called me and told me to check it out. At first, I though it was some urban youth site or a knockoff of Classmates.com (I had an account back in 2003 for Frost Middle School. I was the only one there) but then a week later he showed it to me and I was like "Everyone is putting out their dirty laundry in public". I also remember when certain profiles would always crashed any computer that I would be at, cause those profiles would be flooded with high memory photos, excessive HTML codes and those streaming Music Video codes which was pre-Youtube.

That site didn't get crazy until the middle of my senior year of High School between February and June, or after it got bought out by News Corp., which heavily promoted the site. I though the site was very weak and a waste of time, but I gave in on January 2008 when this one girl I met at Pierce College made me get one cause that was the only means of communication she had (no cell phone cause she doesn't like to use her minutes). Prior to that, I was only using Facebook, my original profile before it got removed from Facebook's headquarters for hitting on girls (I'm a guy). Now I don't even talk to that girl anymore since she started spitting out her conservative thoughts which I didn't tend to like, and she got me into that shit.

Fast forward to the present now. Those who were one of the original pioneers of having a Myspace Profile five years ago have either retired from social networking, or their raising a family during a challenging recession and working just about everyday at the same time to make end meets. Everyone else jumped ship to Facebook after that rich bastard Mark Zuckerburg made the site accessible to Kids, their parents, and anybody else without a university e-mail address that's also not labeled a full time college student. Social networking has completely changed the way people communicate. Its used to be completely underground but alot of companies and rich investors have thrown so much money into it that those site are now well known and recognized. Hell, almost every site you go to regardless of the nature whether its shopping or news journalism or the Adult sites (again, I'm a guy), they'll sometimes have you log in using your Facebook account or whatever account or it'll let you "like" any article that's on that page.

That shows how serious it has gotten. I always see something about Facebook every other day on CNN or the Huffington Post, whereas back in 2007 when I first got the account, the media didn't give a shit about it unless there was some underage girl who used an alias as being a 22 year old Ivy League student and gets murdered for meeting some mental freak on there. But the bottom line is that no one uses Myspace anymore. Everyone thinks that the site should be shut down by now, but that won't be the case as long as Rupert Murdoch and the white collars at News Corp still own the rights to that site, which is one of the main reasons why Myspace founder Tom Anderson left.

Speaking of communication, there's this new trend that I just noticed yesterday about this new "thing" called KIK. Alot of people have been talking about it this past week. They say that is a like a free version of RIM's BlackBerry Messenger, which I've never used and seen before in my life and I'm proud to say that. Plus I don't own a Blackberry smartphone (too expensive and I can't get work here in this broke-ass state), and if I did, then I'd talk more about this KIK application. I hope that shit doesn't send the "Telephone Call" out of existence just like Kodak did with Kodachrome and the way Sony did by retiring the production of the Walkman, which both got me very upset. I'd rather hear a female's nice sexy voice instead of reading her one word response from answering a question that I took up texting for 5 minutes to send to her.

News Corp just offed themselves

To prove how much their social network site has fallen off, this is its new logo.

Yes, seriously, that's their new logo. I wish I or The Onion or Will Ferrell's Funny or Die was making this up but this is the new Myspace logo, with the blank representing the space (pun intended, I guess) of all the people currently on there since its former members that jumped ship to Facebook or got fed up with the site since it might've cost them their relationship, or marriages to some extent.

Shit, let's try this again

Back when I got a Macbook when it came out in 2006 I started taking advanage of the free trial of it's then .mac service. That feature included a program where you can create your own website. So I started doing that. And this was in September of that year mind you. I was fresh out of high school and, this a was a time before anyone had an iPhone, before anyone knew that a black guy would NEVER have a shot at the whitehouse and before Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals legally, yes legally, changed his name among other things. Unfortunately, after I moved back to the valley from staying in Oxnard for the summer, my parents confiscated my laptop for a month, thus letting the trial run out. After I got it back a month later, I completely forgot about my website.

That was my first attempt, my second attempt was last year back when I turned 20 last march. I got the .mac service again, except this time it was for one full year cause I worked at the Apple store during that time. I started the website again, which looked really great. Had picutres I took and a section of my thoughts. What happened to it? A couple months later, about a few weeks after I stopped working there, I kinda lost interest on working on the site. Plus the economy was worsening at that time. So I had to let that go.

Then I relyed on Twitter In January of 2009, the day the Barack got inagurated, to express my thoughts on certain things that are happening. I created it because my original Facebook got deleted thanks to some jailbait who snitched on me to the site's security department. I had a Twitter before news anchors and substitute teachers got one. Now that site is being overdone everywhere. The other disadvantage to it is that you had to say what you want in less than 140 characters. That's like writing in essay contest for "why do you want to go to a sleep over with Demi and Selena" (I could go to hell for writing that). So therefore I took some time to think about my next motive to express my thoughts and concers cause thats the thing everybody is doing now other than sociology class.

July 1st means a lot to me. We're halfway through the year, a lot of new laws are being put to place in various states, my friend Jade is now legal, I joined Facebook back in July 2007 (that was my original profile. I created a new one which I rarely go on) , I created a Flickr last year on July 1, 2008 ( it better not be deleted just because I don't have a Flickr Pro account), and now I have this site. Let's see how long this lasts.
